Erich Lehman

Erich Lehman, founder/curator of 1975, a “nomatic art gallery” that showcases art in various locations around the Rochester area. Here he’s with his own art collection in his home. He’s an inspiring guy who seems to have his hands in a lot of different areas of the Rochester art scene..

Wood fired pizza

Since moving away from NYC 5 years ago, the food i miss most is really good wood fired pizza. I think I found a place here in Rochester that compares. Rocco, 165 Monroe Ave., has excellent crust and nice choice of toppings.

Geneseo Timber Frame Home

I had the opportunity last week to photograph this beautiful timber frame home. An English couple recently moved to the area and built this gorgeous place overlooking rolling hills and ponds in the countryside of Geneseo, NY, outside of Rochester, NY.

Sunflower farmer

Kim Greene is a sixth generation farmer. Her and her family have grown sunflowers for years in Pittsford, and it’s become an almost iconic stopping place along Calkins Rd. for people to take photos of their kids, and marvel at the sea of yellow flowers.

Hydroponic Strawberries

A very cool couple out in Penn Yan, NY just started this hydroponic strawberry farm. On 1/3 of an acre they can produce as many plants as traditional strawberry farms produce on 1 to 1 & 1/2 acres....Very cool..

School Project

In honor of the Oscars, I dug up a school project I shot on 16mm B&W film in college. The rule for the short film was that you could only use 1 spoken word, and that word had to begin with the letter 'b'. Yeah, pretty much everything is bad in this, except for oscar level acting of my wife :)

Brandi Dawn

My friend Brandi Dawn came in today to shoot a cover for insider magazine. It was for the St. Patrick's Day issue. I played around using my new ring flash as fill light.

Patrick Kaleta

In honor of the Buffalo Sabres doing so well this year, I came across a photo I shot of Patrick Kaleta when he first started with the Rochester Amerks about 3 years ago, at the time the farm team of the Buffalo Sabres. We chatted about how excited he was when he would get called up to Buffalo for games. It was cool to see an athlete making the transition to pro. He was in a big fight the night before (on the ice!), and had a big black eye to show for it.

Portrait project

I just started working on a portrait project for Rochester Magazine. Here's a test shot of my bud Jen, and a illegible drawing of the setup.

New Studio

As a first post, I wanted to share some photos of my new studio share. Myself, along with a few other local photographers, and an interior designer will be transforming this space in the next month. I'll update as construction starts.

Thanks to Rich Paprocki for shooting those photos.

and here is the layout.
